FRC (8-12th grade)

FIRST Robotics Competition, or FRC, is the flagship competitive robotics program worldwide for high school students. In FRC, high school teams build 150-pound robots which compete in sport-like games against schools and communities from all over the world, culminating in a world championship event with over 20,000 people in attendance.

The robots are designed, manufactured, assembled, and programmed from scratch using advanced techniques such as CAD, 3D printing, and CNC machining. Students learn all these techniques naturally while participating, and no experience is necessary to join. For more information about FIRST Robotics Competition, visit the FIRST website.

The FRC season runs from January through April and the team meets weekday evenings, and usually on one weekend day. FRC is open to all high school students, as well as 8th grade students, in particular if they have just finished an FTC season and would like to continue building robots.
