Custom Chassis Construction

This week, team 1188 has been working on their robot chassis. Everyone is glad that midterms are done, and people are ready to get working on the robot.  Some of the members have been making certain pieces for the chassis – measuring, cutting, and filing. The pieces must be identical so specific measurements must be taken. Several holes need cut out so places are measured, pilot holes are drilled, and finally the holes are cut. Some of the pieces have to be deburred, which is basically filing down rough edges of holes cut out of metal.   New parts were ordered and some spacers and a drill press have arrived. Others are practicing coding for their AP computer science class. They have programmed one of the old robots to drive forward and are working on programming the robot to pick up a block.
