We are close to completing our competition robot with only a couple days left until we have to bag it for our first district competition in Gibralter. The RoboRavens have been working hard to have our bots ready for practice and for our upcoming competition. We have finished building our practice bot, though we’ve currently taken the arm assembly off and are working on the next iteration. Our current project is to work on the chassis of our competition bot as well
As we wind down our first big robot sprint, the chassis and elevator are both nearing completion. We completed the build of our practice robot’s “belly pan”, or electronics board. Currently, parts of our team are programming LED lights as indicators for when our robot does a certain task such as picking up a cube.
All of our building materials came in and we are beginning the process of putting together our robot. Students and mentors have split up into groups to work on individual parts of the robot that will eventually come together on the robot. At the start of the week, the scale for the practice field was completed! We disassembled the chassis from our Steamworks practice robot, and started a new project to build a new and improved battery cart. A new table was also built in one of our small rooms for an exciting new arrival: a 4’x4′
The RoboRavens are starting this season off strong! We are working hard on our strategies and building the practice field game pieces. Starting on Monday the strategy team calculated scoring data and worked on the logistics of the game and with this they created the strategy of what the robot will be capable of doing.
Power up reveal 1/6/18 The RoboRavens gathered in the shop this morning for the 2018 FRC game reveal. After the reveal, the team split into four main groups: strategy, media, software, and field building. Strategy team is currently working on the logistics of the game, reading the game manual thoroughly to plan and discuss strategies.
