What is FLL Challenge?
FLL (FIRST LEGO League) is a worldwide program that teaches STEM to children with an engaging, hands-on, team-oriented approach. Students work together in teams of 3-5 to solve engineering challenges and develop research skills by building a unique robot and developing solutions to real-world problems. At the end of each season, the students celebrate their work through friendly competition with teams from other schools.
FLL Challenge is for 4th and 5th graders. If your student will be in K-3 in the 26-27 school year, they’ll want to participate in our FLL Explore program instead. If they’ll be entering middle school, they’ll want to participate in FIRST Tech Challenge.
Our 2026 Programs
Fall Lego League
FLL Challenge runs from September through December. This program will run after school at most Royal Oak elementary schools, and we’ll have a Saturday option as well. Official sign-up isn’t open quite yet, but we do have an interest form that you can fill out if you’d like to be contacted when registration opens.
Summer Camp
If you’re looking for something for your child before fall comes, consider registering for one of our summer camps, which provide a similar experience but throughout the course of a single week during the summer. Students can do either the fall or summer program, or do both!
