FLLE (K-3rd grade)

What is FLL Explore?

FLL (FIRST LEGO League) is a worldwide program that teaches STEM to children with an engaging, hands-on, team-oriented approach. Students solve engineering challenges and develop research skills by building a unique robot and developing solutions to real-world problems. At the end of the season, students celebrate their work and earn awards at a festival with teams from other schools.

Royal Oak Robotics provides FLLE programs for K-3rd graders. This program introduces engineering, software, and teamwork concepts to participants in a non-competitive, project-based setting. The students use Legos to design, build, and program an interactive robotic project. Kids who’ve previously played with Legos will feel right at home, but those that haven’t are also welcome and will learn quickly. For more information about FIRST Lego League Explore, visit the FIRST website.

If your child will be in fourth or fifth grade in the 26-27 school year, they’ll want to participate in our FLL Challenge program instead.

Our 2026 Programs

FLL Explore runs from early September to early December. This program will run after school for certain grades and schools, and we’ll have a Saturday program open to all. Official sign-up isn’t open quite yet, but we do have an interest form that you can fill out if you’d like to be contacted when registration opens.
